Supporting Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in Cambridgeshire

We’re proud to announce that Arthur Rank Hospice Charity has been chosen as Mivida's Charity of the Year.

We wanted to work with a charity that is making a real difference to people and families in our local community, and Arthur Rank stood out to us.

Supporting people and families across Cambridgeshire

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people across Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition, as well as those who need end-of-life care.

Each year, the charity cares for more than 3,750 patients through the Hospice in Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech and in people’s own homes and communities.

Its work encompasses much more than end-of-life care. From its Living Well programmes and Lymphoedema service to supporting young adults living with complex or life-limiting conditions, Arthur Rank provides exceptional, compassionate care that helps people live as well as possible and die with dignity, while supporting families and loved ones too.

Its motto, 'making every moment count' is at the heart of everything it does.

Why Arthur Rank Hospice Charity needs support now

Providing this level of care comes at a significant cost.

Arthur Rank expects it will cost more than £14.7 million to run its services in 2026/27, with more than £7.3 million needing to be raised through donations and other charitable income.

On top of this, the charity is now facing the loss of a significant source of funding, putting some of its vital care at risk.

Arthur Rank was notified that annual funding worth £829,000 would be withdrawn from April 2026. The funding covers the cost of caring for up to nine patients at its Cambridge hospice.

Thanks to interim support and the generosity of the local community, these beds have been protected but only until March 2027. Without a longer-term solution, they remain at risk from April 2027. A reduction in beds would ultimately mean fewer local people could receive the specialist care they need.

CEO Sharon Allen and the wider Arthur Rank team continue to work tirelessly to find a sustainable solution, but support from individuals, businesses and the wider community remains vital.

Why Mivida Wealth chose Arthur Rank Hospice Charity

We have strong ties to Cambridge through our office, our team and our clients, so supporting an organisation making such a difference locally means a great deal to us.

We also recognise that their need is great. Over the coming year, our team will have opportunities to fundraise, volunteer and take part in events, as well as using our voice and our network to shine a light on Arthur Rank's work and the difference its care makes to people and families across Cambridgeshire.
