Good advice starts with good people. Meet Guy, Euan and Lisa - the three newest members of the Mivida team.
Our clients aren't choosing a service. They're choosing the people they'll trust through changing circumstances and the moments that matter most. That's why the people we bring into Mivida matter as much as anything else we do.
Our approach is built on understanding first, solutions second, and that only works with advisers, paraplanners and client managers who genuinely take the time to listen and care.
So, we're pleased to welcome three new members to the team.
Guy Brown: Trainee Financial Adviser
Guy joined us in April, bringing a degree in Financial Economics and around four years' experience in investment operations, including extensive work with hedge funds. He's recently completed his Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS).
What drew Guy to advice was simple: he wants to help people take control of their financial future. He's a strong advocate of long-term thinking and believes the small decisions made today compound into something much bigger later on.
Euan Baker-Milne: Paraplanner
Euan joined in June. He graduated in 2017 with a degree in Accounting and Finance and has been building his technical knowledge across financial planning ever since. As a Level 6 qualified member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), he provides the technical support behind our advisers' recommendations.
Euan enjoys the complicated cases especially the ones with lots of moving parts. His job is to take that complexity and turn it into something clear, well-structured and genuinely personal to each client's circumstances. No generic solutions, simply thoughtful strategies designed around real lives.
Lisa Sheridan: Assistant Client Manager
Lisa joined in August and brings substantial experience as a Senior Financial Administrator and Researcher, spanning pensions, investments and wealth management.
She's works across the full client journey from first enquiry through to annual reviews and is instrumental in the preparation of key documents for advisers to share with clients and assisting with complex case work.
For our clients, that means a clear, reliable point of contact who understands the detail and keeps them informed about every important decision, without burying them in forms and paperwork.
How we hire
We take our time over recruitment. Our process is deliberately thorough, and while that means it isn't the quickest, it's one of the more important things we do.
Qualifications and technical ability matter as you'd expect from one of only a select number of Chartered Wealth Management firms in the UK. But they're only part of the picture. We're just as interested in how someone thinks, how they treat people, and whether they genuinely care about the outcome for our clients.
That's harder to test for, so we look properly. Many of our clients have been with us for years, through career changes, market volatility and family milestones. Every appointment is a decision about who will be looking after those relationships for decades to come, and we'd rather wait for the right person than fill a seat quickly.
Guy, Euan and Lisa each came through that process. They're here because they're good at what they do and because they're the kind of people we want representing Mivida.
A very warm welcome to Guy, Euan and Lisa! And clearly we need to buy a bigger sofa...
